about

Elvina is the musical project of Sydney born singer/songwriter Jolanda Moyle.

Her independent release 'So We Can Grow' delves into a richly textured world of somber dreaminess and enchantment ...her sound feeling akin to Mazzy Star or Joanna Newsom...she croons with a soothing and pensive voice, delivering unhindered folk tales of poignant reminiscence, healing and growth.

'So we can grow' was recorded and produced by Tony Dupe in Melbourne 2011 (who also played a variety of instruments as well as mixed and mastered it). Jolanda played most of the instruments such as acoustic and electric guitar/melodica/flute/ harp/piano and all voices. Guest musicians included Peter Woodlands on double bass, Francesca Mountfort on cello and Biddy Connor on saw and viola.

Jolanda has recently returned from India where she regularly spends her days walking through the himalaya's and jungle beaches, weaving crystal jewellery, making short films, painting t-shirts, writing poetry and songs, singing, playing guitar, flute, melodica and any instrument she finds...

'Elvina' will be in Melbourne for a little while to play (new songs as well as from 'so we can grow') with Peter Woodlands on Double Bass.
